Adelaide Singer Lizzie Hosking is a powerhouse vocalist with catchy melodies and fun storytelling. Lizzie Hosking grew up in the North of Adelaide pursuing her love of music through singing covers and performing every chance she got. Later in life, Lizzie found her love for songwriting and storytelling. Constantly uploading content to places like TikTok and Instagram Lizzie strives to help her friends and followers realize their worth and importance through self-love hidden between the lyrics of Lizzie’s pop tunes.

Hosking’s latest offering “Stress You Out” ponders on the idea of sitting with a ticking time bomb (a secret) and feeling too scared to talk about it because of potential repercussions and manipulation — but then making the realization that you actually hold the power in this situation and the person who silenced you, doesn’t have any power over you.

Hi there Lizzie. Thank you for joining us on The Fade In! How are you doing?

I’m great thank you! Super excited

I’d love to begin our conversation by talking about your latest project “Stress You Out”. The track conveys a message of finding your voice again after a long time of feeling trapped and silenced. Would you say this project was something that emerged out of your personal experiences?

This project was definitely derived from personal experiences, unfortunately, too many people get put into situations where they feel as though they are trapped and have lost their voice and power to speak up. Which is why the song is so important to me, empowering people to stand up for themselves and get themselves out of situations similar to my own.

Kindly walk us through the creative process of the track. Did you face any sort of challenges while creating this project?

This song was written and created 2 years ago whilst working on my upcoming album, I was really stuck one night trying to write a song and pulled out the main riff of the song that I had written ages ago but couldn’t find the words to go with it. At that time my personal situations were at an all-time low so this moment inspired me to put my thoughts and emotions into the song.

It’s such an empowering track. What sort of message do you personally wish the listeners would garner from listening to “Stress You Out”?

I really want people to listen to this track and feel some kind of empowerment, empowered enough to make a change in their life that could get them out of a bad situation. My songs are always about realizing your worth and “Stress You Out” is no different.

Since the track isn’t out yet, how is this anticipation period going on for you? Feeling nervous or excited? What sort of response do you aim on garnering from your fans?

I am always a mixed bag of nervous and excited feelings leading up to a release, I try to not have any expectations for a song before a release but this song is definitely one of my favorites and a great response will be welcomed with open arms.

Who are the top three artists on your music playlist right now? Is there anyone on your radar who you would absolutely love to collaborate with in the future?

I am loving Dua Lipa, Olivia Dean, and Amber Mark, A bit of a mixed bag of artists but their style and music heavily influence and inspires my own writing and collaborating with them in the future would be a dream come true.

Lastly, is there any message that you’d wish to convey to your fans reading this interview currently?

I hope this song is as therapeutic for you as it was for me, and if it doesn’t provide you with any empowering feelings I hope it shines a light and serves as a reminder for situations that too many people have to go through on a daily basis. Please reach out if you are ever in need of someone to talk to.
